Dr. Kalpana Nagpal

I was suffering from breathing problems since my childhood. However, this breathing problem improved as I grew up. Suddenly in the month of January 2021, I experienced a nasal blockage in my left nostril. I thought it would be some transient nasal blockage. For a few days I used steam and Otrivin spray to get relief but when it continued for more than 2 weeks, I thought of showing it to a doctor. I approached an ENT doctor in a well-known hospital in Gurgaon. He advised me of Otrivin and Nasoclear spray for a week. After a week, the situation improved by only 10%. Seeing no improvement, I thought of showing myself to Dr. Kalpana Nagpal in Indraprastha Apollo hospital whom I had never shown before for any ENT problem.

She examined me and said there looked to be a lot of problems in my nostrils. She advised NCCT PNS scan. I got my CT Scan done the same day. I again showed my reports to her after three days. She explained the NCCT PNS scan report to me. My left nasal passage was totally blocked as was clear from CT scan film there were a lot of polyps in maxillary, ethmoidal sinuses in both left and right nostrils. I also had deviated nasal septum. The scenes on the NCCT PNS scan film were very scary, the scariest was the Ethmoidal polyps. If I do get rid of their Ethmoidal polyps there was an extremely high risk of me getting blind because of them.

I immediately decided to get myself operated on. I even researched about my surgery on google. I could not find any doctor better than Dr. Kalpana Nagpal to do this surgery as she is the only ENT surgeon in India with a remarkably high track record in robotic surgery. I was completely dependent on her when I went for surgery. I got operated on successfully and I am feeling extremely better now after 3 months of surgery.

She is like my mother as she has given me new birth after my successful sinus surgery with septoplasty.

As a caveat never overlook nasal blockage problems and do not use Otrivin spray to get immediate relief as it will worsen your condition further. Please show it to a good ENT specialist. Sometimes, hopes lead to greater healing. Consider my self lucky that I am in safe hands. Would like to share it with all the ENT patients that we have a noble soul and a doctor around us. I would not recommend Dr. Kalpana Nagpal to anyone on this earth. ** **** *** **** ****** ***** *** *** she performed the Hemithyroidectomy on me on 28th Jan 2022. I had a right thyroid nodule of 3 cm which was Bening as per the 2 FNAC tests performed a year apart from 2 different hospitals. I stay in Kolkata and I went to Delhi to get my nodule treated, I visited Dr. Nagpal and she told me that the size of my nodule is ideal for ROBOTIC surgery, the cost of Robotic Surgery was not at all affordable for us (as we were not sure if my company's insurance will cover such advanced procedure), still my mother was ready to go for it as the Robotic thyroidectomy as it is performed from Axilla, not directly on the neck.

After the surgery a drain was attached to the thyroid gland from the Axilla which was supposed to be pulled out after 3 days. I visited the hospital for drain removal on 2nd Feb 2022, from that day onwards I kept telling the Dr. that I feel like a drain in my neck and she kept ignoring saying it is just a post-surgery swelling, still I had doubts as I could feel it all the time. Therefore I stayed in Delhi for a month till my next follow up after a month of surgery, so in case anything happens I'll stay close to hospital bearing all the extra costs that 1 month costed me. During my 1 month post surgery visit, I again told her about what I can feel in the surgery area and she said it could be Muscular Fibrosis and there is nothing from her end to recheck as she is so sure about her procedures.

[After around 1.5 months of surgery it suddenly started bleeding from the incision followed with severe swelling and fever (which was due to the tube pinching the fragile skin from inside, I told her the same and she prescribed me **** ** **** pain killers and antibiotics, *** ****** ** ***** ** ***** ********* ** ***** ******* ** ** ***** *********

I believed her Muscular Fibrosis statement and thought that there must be something wrong with my body only and this trust on her caused me the most harm. After 6 months when I went to a hospital for USG Neck I asked the Sonographer to put the Transducer on that place and he said there is definitely something and suggested me to go for an x-ray. I immediately went for an x-ray which was clearly showing a 12cm tube left in my Hemithorax region **** *** ******** *** * *** *** ********* ******** * ******* ******** ****** **** *** **** *** ****** *** *** **** ****** **** ****** ***** ** ***** *** ********** ***** I directly went to Delhi after the x-ray and visited another Dr. for an opinion if that is actually a tube as I wanted to be 200% sure, because Dr. Nagpal kept calling it Muscular Fibrosis for straight 7 months, and that Dr. cleared that it can't be anything else than the tube. Next day I went to Dr. Nagpal and after seeing the x-ray first she denied and than she asked me where the tube came from (like if I got it planted myself or as if I know) then she called another Dr. from floor and asked my brothers to wait outside while she checks and she got hold of the tube and she was ready to PULL IT OUT CUTTING LAYERS OF MY SKIN ON THE OPD CHAIR THAT TOO WITHOUT ANY PRIOR CT SCAN OR ANYTHING, THAT TUBE WAS INSIDE ME FOR 7 MONTHS. I pulled back my hand and called my brother instantly, then she stared requesting them to let her try once on the OPD chair and it that doesn't work she will take me to the Operation Theater **** * *** * ***** **** ** ***** *** **** ** ******** ***** ** *** ***** **** **** **** She never cared about the risk of infection or severe bleeding, when I told this to other Dr's they too said any surgery is done in a controlled environment, but all she cared about herself, **** **** **** ****** ** **** ********** ***** ***** *** ****** ***

The Dr. who later performed the surgery made me go through CT Scan and several blood tests to be sure about the situation before performing the tube removal, by God's grace it came out at once.*** ****** **** * ****** ********* ******* *** ** *** *** ******* ****** ** **** ******** *** * ****** *** * *** *** ** * **** ****** ** my gut was so disturbed after taking so much Antibiotics and Painkillers, I still keep burping like 15 times a minute, *** ****************** **** ** **** ** *** ***** ******* ** ****** ** **** ********** Therefore I didn't want to go through more stress and pain living in Delhi ** *** **** ****** * **** *** *** ****** ***** *** ****** ** **** * ********** *** * *** ******* ******* ** **** ***** ****** ***** *** *** ** **** *** ******** *** ******* *** ** ****** ****** * *** ****** ** ** ***** **** ****** *** *** *** ****** ** ** ***** ****** ****** ** **** ***** I STILL REGRET AND CURSE THE DAY I VISTED HER.

I thought everything will be fine after the tube removal but the tube has made a path which is still not healed after around 2 months of my tube removal surgery, it is said to be a Scar Tissue which still causes pain and issues during swallowing.

**** *** **** ******* *** *** ********* *** ** ** ***** I HAVE GONE THROUGH THE SURGERY TO REMOVE THE MOST BIGGER AND VISIBLE PORTION OF THE Right NODULE, EVEN AFTER KNOWING THAT THE NODULE IS BENIGN. But she only removed the lower part of the Right Thyroid Nodule and left the upper portion which too had visible swelling, now as the lower portion became more hallow and upper one looks like a pointed thing on my neck. When I asked her th same thing, she said it is Benign therefore she left it, but the thing was I already knew it was Benign and the sole purpose of surgery was to remove the bigger and visible portion of the right side gland, *** *** ******** ** **** ************ ***** ******* * **** *** ** * ******* *** *********** ********* *** ****** *** **** ****** I have gained nothing the nodule is still visible, only thing is now I've more health issues do deal with, the tight Scar Tissue in my neck, my Gut, my mental health, the trauma I go through every morning after seeing my neck portion in mirror.

I am writing this review after 2 months of my 2nd surgery because I'm not at peace and going through a lot **** ******* ** **** ********* *** *** *** ** **** ********* ***** *** ********* **** she kept neglecting my problems.

When I shared my USG reports with her via WhatsApp, she didn't responded for 2 days then I called her if she can check it once, she told me that she cannot check anyone's report like that, 1st pay the consultation charges than only she will see them. Now I'm paying and going through all the losses *** ****** *** ****** ******** *** *************** *** **** **** **** *** ****** *** I'll not recommend this Dr. to anyone.

My daughter have lymph node in the neck i went to apollo hospital and meet ENT surgeaon kalpana nagpal because i heard her name in the list of good ent doctors. She told us that lymph node would have to be biopsied. she operated my daughter's neck and we stayed in hospital for 2 days. My daughter had same problems after a week then i call doctor kalpana ,she said come quickly in OPD for checking. She referred us to radiologist for again test of neck,then he just do something with syringe in my daughter's neck then after a week my daughter have same problems,a day after she called herself and said that she have to operate my daughter's neck one more time for second biopsy and if we find something in it then we will give her a kimo,and then when we go for a second opinion ** **** ** **** **** *** *** ******** *** ******** **** ******* ** *** ******* ***** ******* *** ** * **** ** * ******** ***** I want to give zero rating

I had suffered with Sinus issues for many years before I randomly happened to visit Dr Nagpal in OPD. Her clear communication regarding my condition convinced me that I required the surgery, for which I registered myself on the same day.

The entire process of surgery and post surgical care went off remarkably well for me and all through Dr Nagpal guided me at each stage. It has now been 2 months since my surgery and my life has changed dramatically. I am back to doing all my daily activities with full energy levels. It has been a life changing experience and with only a few days of discomfort post surgery.

I had a bad experience while showing my mother to her in Apollo hospital Sarvatra Vihar .I could see Lack of empathy & Compassion *** *** ************* *** ***** ** *** ******* * ** ****** ** ** * *** ***** ******* ** * ***** **** **** ** ** ****** *** ****** ** *** ************ * My mother could not tolerate the minor test on her ear and lost conscious for some time ( at least 10 to 15 minutes) . Instead of trying to attend the patient who was in a bad state she left the patient on its own justifying that they do these test everyday .

My brother had moderate hearing loss due to nerve damage due to Herpes Zoster.Any doctor we consulted would say that only time will tell if hearing returns or not.She was the only one concerned about hearing loss in such young age.And she actually managed to get it back through intratympanic injections.The difference between the reports was remarkable. I was thankful that we arrived at the right place and right time.Any number of days wasted and the treatment would have been ineffective.Other expensive doctors would just write a long list of medicines.One doesn't need false reassurance and wasting of valuable time.The relief and thankfulness we felt when we saw the reports was something else.Nowadays it’s difficult to find doctors who actually do their job and don’t just talk.

My mother have hyperparathyroid issue and surgery was needed. We went to Dr Kalpana for robotic surgery. She did parathyroid gland surgery ** ** *** ** *** ***** ******** *********** ** *** ******* *** ***** ***** *******Also, post surgery my mother was discharged and we took her to home, after 3 days my mother had bleeding in her neck, we talked to Kalpana and asked us to come in emergency. We took mother to hospital and they readmitted her.Kalpana performed surgery again on my mother. My mother went through so much cut and wounds and still the issue is not resolved. My mother lost her lot of health.We reached out to another doctor *** **** ** ******* *** *** ******* ** ******** ** **** ******* *** *** **** ******** *** *********** ** *** ******* **** ***** ** ***** ****** **** * ****** **** * *** *********** Please take decision of choosing doctor wisely🙏. Our whole family has suffered alot especially my mother.

I was suffering from severe ear pain for 6 months. I had visited a couple of doctors in Faridabad but, somehow none of them were able to diagnose it from the root cause. So one of my friend advised me to consult Dr. Kalpana Nagpal at Apollo Hospital. When I had consulted with her my whole thought process was changed because I completely had lost trust in ENT doctors. During her examination she was really calm & patience and I must say she also made me understand the reason behind my ear problem and the complete procedure to cure it. I am really grateful for her gesture, the kind of knowledge she has and the way she treat her patients. Moreover, the staff was very cooperative and highly professional.

Doctor was polite and responsive with all the patient. Hospital was neat and clean, staff response was good and I would like to recommend this doctor for other also.
